Simple Crypto Price Alerts

A small Telegram bot that does one job. People pick a coin and a target (a price, or a percent rise or fall), and the bot messages them once when it happens. Prices come from CoinGecko every minute.

Who it's for: For a crypto channel, a trading community or your own use, when all you need is price alerts. For charts, token safety scans, a daily digest and paid Premium, use the Advanced Crypto Terminal template.

What the conversation looks like

  1. 🚨 bitcoin rose 5.1% from $66800 β€” now $70208 These alerts are done. Send /add to set a new one.
The alert fires

How it works

  • People send /start and tap New alert
  • They pick a coin β€” Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, or type another tracked coin β€” and see its current price
  • They choose what to watch β€” rises by %, falls by %, or reaches a price β€” and send the number
  • The bot checks prices every minute and messages them once when the alert hits, then removes that alert
  • My alerts lists what they are watching and lets them remove one coin or everything

Setup requirements

  • Connect your Telegram bot: Settings β†’ Bots β†’ paste the token from @BotFather.
  • Press Deploy. The bot only answers once the flows are published.
  • Wait about a minute so the Prices updater loads the first prices, then send /start and add a test alert.
  • Optional: change trackedCoins (CoinGecko ids, comma-separated) and maxAlerts under Variables.

Details

Good to know

  • Prices come from CoinGecko's free public API, loaded once a minute for the whole bot β€” no API key, and no request per user.
  • People can only set alerts on coins in the trackedCoins list. It ships with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and TON; add any CoinGecko coin id.
  • Each person can keep a limited number of alerts at once (5 by default, set in maxAlerts), so one user cannot pile up hundreds.
  • An alert fires once and is removed, so nobody gets the same message every minute.
  • Alerts are checked about once a minute, so a spike that reverses within that minute can be missed. It's a heads-up tool, not a trading signal.

Common questions

  • Which coins should people be able to watch?
  • How many alerts can one person keep at once?
  • Do you need more than alerts β€” charts, scans, a digest, or paid tiers? Then the Advanced Crypto Terminal fits better.

Keep in mind

  • Don't promise instant alerts β€” prices refresh once a minute.
  • Don't present alerts as financial advice or trading signals.
  • Don't put hundreds of coins in trackedCoins β€” one CoinGecko call covers the whole list, and the free API has rate limits.
